How much to take every day? On finding the right CBD dose.

18 Sep 2024 0 Comments
In earlier posts, we focused on a CBD 101 discussion, delivery methods of CBD and the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). This time we wanted to provide a reference for our users on how much CBD to take per day as this is a frequently asked question for virtually everyone who is trying to come up with a daily routine.

Unfortunately, there is no easy single answer to this question that applies to everybody, however, the following recommendations have emerged from abundant anecdotal evidence and are widely accepted in the industry and the user community today. When you start taking CBD regularly, we advise that you start from a small dose (15-20 mg per day) and keep a close eye on the outcomes. Based on your own observations, you can start increasing your dose by 5-10 mg increments until you start seeing the desired effects. Ultimately, the correct dose for any CBD user depends on their weight, the condition they are looking to treat, and their biochemistry. It is reported that most users fall within the wide range of 20 mg - 1500 mg per day given people of diverse needs and characteristics. We also advise that you allow time to your routine (3-4 weeks) to achieve the full desired effect.

Here, one of the key aspects is purchasing good CBD. As you may have read in our earlier posts or elsewhere, the CBD market is not strictly regulated which results in unreliable products that often do not contain the ingredients listed on the label. This confuses some users as they fail to see any benefits who then conclude CBD is not for them. This is why we test every single batch of any OZ Botanical product at reputable third party laboratories and allow our users to freely access the results.

How to calculate the amount to take?

This is often the first question for beginners after opening their first CBD package. At OZ Botanical, we clearly label our products with the total CBD content as well as the amount of CBD included in one serving. For example, our softgel product includes 1000 mg total CBD that comes in 30 capsules (servings). This means there is approximately 33 mg of CBD in a single serving as clearly indicated under nutrition facts (see Figure 1). A quick glance at any of our products will tell you how much CBD there is in a single serving. Feel free to contact us in case you have any questions or concerns, and our staff will be happy to walk you through serving sizes and finding the right dose. We would also recommend that you talk to your doctor if you are taking other medications or supplements to start a CBD routine in the safest and most effective way.
